MUDROOM REVEAL! Friends, it’s been 23 months and three weeks since we first swung a hammer in what was then our teeny-tiny, cramped walkway of a laundry room. Is there such a thing as a galley laundry room? We’ll say that’s how it was. Swipe through until you land on a photo of the door that goes out to the garage. You see where the wood beam is up there? Yes, right along the end of the door frame… the left side of that was where the wall used to be. Imagine me swapping a load of laundry at the same time Jason is coming in with a full load of groceries, his work bag, a baby carrier, and diaper boxes. 😬 It wasn’t good. When we made the decision to turn our formal dining room into an office, we borrowed some space from it to expand the laundry room, therefore creating all of this wonderful square footage for all of this wonderful storage and all of our wonderful toilet paper, diapers, and cleaning supplies to hide in. Remember when Everleigh (age 2) painted the dryer for me? It’s still there 🫣. Also, all of the credit for the radial side splash idea goes to the lovely and talented samanthasteininteriors. 🤍 Still swooning over our kitchen to this day. It’s the most used and loved space in our home. Leaving this here because this is not what our kitchen looks like 99% of the time. It’s usually filled with kids on the island, a sink full of dishes and rice all over the floor. Finished kitchen coming at you! These clients love to host and cook, and their builder grade kitchen wasn’t cutting it. The original layout didn’t include a peninsula, there was little to no prep space, storage was lacking, and the floors needed an update. I worked with them to decide on a new layout which included a coffee and wine bar, larger uppers, and more practical and useful lowers. They liked the look of a rustic, Italian kitchen, but wanted to keep with the modern finishes of the rest of the house. In order to cover this brief, I found a rich, indigo color for the cabinets that will be timeless, and a rustic, white subway style tile with texture and dark grout. I found a one basin, stainless apron sink and brushed nickel finishes to balance the warmth of the new finish on the floors. These clients will be hosting dinners again any day now! Loving my new kitchen! I feel like I have been planning it for so long and to see it finally come together has been AMAZING! It definitely has a coastal vibe with the rattan stools and pendants, but I wanted to keep it modern with the white zellige tile and floating shelves! My lighting may be terrible in these photos and not do it justice but I am missing my kitchen like crazy these days!! All cliqstudios seen here! My cabinets were amazing and done for half of the cost of buying at a box store. All you have to do is send in your dimensions a designer reviews and builds your kitchen out while asking you simple design questions. I added a ton of drawers before drawers were really getting popular for overall ease. Every shelf cabinet had a pullout drawer hidden so that I could easily access everything in the cabinet.
